While we have both taught in studios individually, and do offer private classes, our strength lies in our relationship and combined essence. We believe two teachers facilitating a class in a supportive, interactive and intentional way…… is unique and profound.
Using our combined strengths and highlighting our differences, we provide a class that highlights duality in movement, feeling, and connection, with the invitation to switch between and blend polarities. We offer dynamic and multilayered yoga classes and authentic sequence that teaches balance, awareness, and mindfulness, primarily through:
Asanas (yoga Postures),
Dance
Acrobatics and Partner Yoga
Tai chi
Breath work
The class encompasses a full spectrum of Yoga styles, there are elements of Hatha, Vinyasa, PowerFlow, Yin, interpretive dance, AcroYoga, Pranayama, Satsang, Meditation, and chanting.
This yoga class has more of a workshop feel, it does not operate in the same format as a normal studio class, however it maintains many yogic principles including a broader and more experimental element of discovery and reaching out from within comfort zones.
WHY TEAM TEACHING?
Honoring the different sides of ourselves can help to make us feel more whole. Witnessing the Yin (feminine/soft) and Yang (Masculine/Strong) elements within our movements and emotions, and between ourselves, in our communication, can have powerful effects on our consciousness and wellbeing. Every body comes to yoga for different reasons and we want to offer as many access points as possible. Between us, we want to embody, and acknowledge different yogic styles, types of movement, moods, body types, and energies, to encourage awareness of these ‘black and white’ separations, and simultaneously encourage blending them into ‘grey.’ Humans gravitate towards different things at different times. We may avoid some things and be more attracted to other things and having two different teachers simultaneously can be an added opportunity to recognise and experience more sides of ourselves. Using an interplay between a male and a female instructor, in a conscious relationship, further explores concepts and interactions within and between ourselves.
Two qualified yoga teachers in a class have many benefit:
More attentive to individual needs of the students
Can hold space and lead in different ways.
Always one person demonstrating and another instructing and adjusting.
Higher teacher student ratios to allow for increased attention and an extremely safe space.
Catering specifically for male and female students, with the ability to split classes based on need.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity
Offer different perspectives to speak to a wider audience
